Pantone release the color of Sping Summer 2013

As we get excited by the arrival of the spring summer 2014 shows...well I'm excited by it...Pantone release the color trends for next season.

It's hard to get excited about something that hasn't exactly happened yet given that I am only just thinking about my AW13 wardrobe but still.

So the candidates are :

The popularity is based on how many designers used the color in their designs and the percentage of how many times it appeared in each collection.

The inclusion of the IT colors for next season is more important then you think. If a designer doesn't feature the hottest colors of the season, they therefore do not make magazine round ups. This in turn affects the ability of the designer to reach the interest of the fashion inclined. I mean those people who do not watch the shows or stay glued to social media /style.com to hear what Tim Blanks has to say about it. But rather they buy Vogue or Grazia to find out what the colors are.

But a magazine will decide that a lot of designers featured Cayenne (7.65% to be exact) so they will do a round up of those designers excluding any that haven't. So you gotta hope that as a designer, you get at least one or two 'in' colors in your collection. At the very least you need to get the style right if you don't get the color right. E.G - A magazine does a 70s inspired shoot then they will include your 70s style platforms, etc etc.

Sound complicated? It is. Lets leave it to the experts right?

However only one color makes the overall color of the season and its Placid Blue this season people. This isn't a world shaker as it was blue last SS13 as well. Shocker. Florals for spring? Oh wait no, Blues for spring? Groundbreaking....
