Celebs Go Dating: Jermaine Pennant's wife Alice says she ready to try for a baby after counselling

He has slammed Celebrity Big Brother for nearly destroying his marriage to Alice Goodwin after he flirted up a storm with Chloe Ayling on the show.

And Jermaine Pennant and the glamour model made their debut on Celebs Go Dating on Sunday night as they turned to couple's counselling in a bid to save their marriage.

Alice, 33, told dating agents Anna Williamson and Paul Carrick-Brunson she wasn't ready to try for a baby as she struggled to come to terms with the footballer's betrayal, but was later swayed when he cooked her romantic meal.

Starting the counselling session Jermaine, 36, said: 'I was on a show and a scenario occurred where I was flirting. I overstepped the mark a little bit and wasn’t thinking about the consequences. I said I wasn’t married.'

Jermaine failed to mention he was married when he flirted with 22-year-old model and kidnap victim Chloe on CBB last year.

They were seen planting kisses on each other and writing affectionate letters yet he claimed he had done nothing wrong.

To which Paul asked the mum-of-one: 'So Alice, do you trust Jermaine? It’s just a yes or a no?

Hesitating, Alice said: 'At this point…yes. Tomorrow, maybe not!'

She then went on to discuss Jermaine's desire to try for a baby.

'This is probably another example of where we differ, Jermaine is happy to have a child despite the fact we haven’t ironed out our issues,' she said.

'After everything we’ve been through I just really need to know we’ve dealt with all our problems before we take the next step.

To which Jermaine replied: 'I need to make more effort, I’m just throwing it out there. In the sense of showing her a bit more appreciation, cook for her from time to time, take her on dinners instead of playing golf all week.'

The former footballer then proceeded to cook Alice dinner at their lavish home, in a bid to show he was willing to put the effort into the marriage.

Winning her over with his spicy broccoli, microwave mash and chicken, Alice told Jermaine: 'You've done well here, I appreciate it. You're in the good books after what you've done tonight so perhaps we can do some practicing.'

It comes after Jermaine hit out at CBB for destroying their relationship, claiming the show was unfairly edited to portray him as a womaniser and cheat.

He told The Sun: 'I had no idea what was going on when I was in Celebrity Big Brother, in there I know how it is, but the way they edit it, it looks 100 per cent worse.

'They are showing five minutes of a 24 hour day, there were times when I never had a conversation with a girl, they don't care, all they care about is ratings and having a good show. I regret the way things come out.

Alice added: 'They don't care how people look. That could have potentially broken our marriage. But we needed that, we hadn't done therapy, but this has been like it for us, I wish we had done it years ago.'

Celebs Go Dating continues on weekday on E4 at 9pm.
