Think Maxi dresses are just for summer?
WRONG!
Erdem owned this trend. Showing the most beautiful full length dresses dotted in amongst the collection. I must admit, once I saw the maxi dresses I didn't care what the collection also featured. These are gorgeous. Now I may be 6ft tall and able to rock a maxi like no one's
business but it can also look well on shorter girls as well. Think Nicole Richie who is only 5ft 1. She works it. But this season, the maxi is more mature. Darker colors help, darker floral prints. It's again all about the prints for this season. Long sleeves, nipped in at the waist. The dress must be floor length not ankle and must be slightly floaty.
A lot of designers winter-ed up the maxi but throwing a jumper over the top in a nod to 90's grunge. Love Love Love. The maxi is the easiest in get up and go chic. When your feeling crap and hungover. Throw on a maxi and your instantly chic. Best idea ever! But the winter maxi is even more stunning. It's more romantic chic then trying to stay cool chic! I can't use the word Chic enough!!!
COLOR - dark florals or prints. Black. just make sure it has long sleeves.
TRANS-SEASONAL - This is a difficult one. There are no shops really featuring the long sleeved winter maxi yet. Comprise with a long maxi and throw a t-shirt over it for now I think!!!!! Play with maxis. I own 2 maxi skirts which make great tube dresses when pulled up. Maxi dresses can look great under jumpers, blazers, t-shirts....you name it. just keep the t-shirt plain if the maxi has a print on it and so on so forth....
